The Next Big Thing...

Ten Interview Questions

What is the working title of your book?
The Playground - Part One "Command" (three novella series)

Where did the idea come from for the book?
I have a personal interest in the topic of D/s – it is a recurring theme in a lot of my work.  Also, my followers seem to really enjoy it...I don't feel like such a kink-meister, out there in the land of kink all by myself.

What genre does your book fall under?
Erotic Fiction, Erotica, Adult Fiction, Sensual Romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
This is difficult for me.  I don't watch television so...ugh, I don't know the names of actors well.  Let me give it a shot...I'm only going to list the main characters from "Command" though.  You'll have to wait and see who features in "Bound" and "Submit".

Kikiama "Kiki" Espinoza - Meng Qian
Craig LeBlanc - Alexander Skarsgard
Draven Michaels - Joe Manganiello
Misery - Giulia Siegel
Tina - Teresa Palmer

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Everyone has fun at The Playground.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self-published on Amazon Kindle.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
First draft took about 1-2 days for each section, a total of 12 days with edits.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Well, the knee-jerk response would be “50 Shades of Grey” but since I couldn’t stand that book and felt it had little to do with a true D/s relationship, I’d have to say it is closer to a Lora Leigh “Pleasure” book or perhaps Maya Banks' "Sweet Temptations".

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
It came to me when was polishing my dining room table.  Dropped everything and went to jot down my notes.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
As usual, this isn’t ‘smut’ though the potential is always there in any erotic story.  It is about acceptance and understanding…maybe finding that person who matches you like a missing puzzle piece.

LOL, I never get inspiration from polishing the dining room table. Ah, maybe that's because I've never polished the dining room table. For real, it's supposed to be polished? Of course, I've "eaten" on the dining room table, perhaps that will inspire a scene in one of my stories.

Shayne, you are amazing and you're so supportive that it make my heart leap with joy. I talk a lot about paying-it-forward and people who know me realize it's something I believe in very strongly. I'm delighted to see it's a mantra you believe in too. Thanks Much for the shout out.

Now, about your upcoming trilogy. Gawd, I'm like Nichelle - damn you write fast. As soon as your book comes out, I will be standing in-line to buy it. Muwah!!@

I don't think either of you realize how much I believe in your work. I love it. I do. I want more people to buy it and fawn all over you in gratitude and adoration. It's my goal for the next year. To become successful and drag as many other talented writers with me as I can.

Oh, I type 135wpm and I think much faster (I'm a little bit nuts).

And I've both polished and "polished" the dining room table which made me notice the legs on my new one...which made me realize that it was just the right length for comfort...nothing hanging off unless you wanted it to be. One thing led to another and soon I had the rough to all three stories (about an hour) and sat down to write the first one in its entirety. If I don't write fast, I lose it.

You don't have to thank me or pay it forward. I'm so happy to do it.

Many hugs,
Shayne

Shayne, you're a doll - a talented author and a wonderful human being. I can't thank you enough for "paying it forward" and including me in your top 5 - especially in the #1 slot.

Hugs - and I'd love to have a typing contest with you!

What an awesome post and shout out to some of my favorite Authors. Shayne - I look forward to reading your work. I can relate to the 'write it fast or lose it', mentality.
