"Life is too short to spend your
precious time trying to convince a person who wants to live in gloom and doom
otherwise. Give lifting that person your best shot, but don't hang around long
enough for his or her bad attitude to pull you down. Instead surround yourself
with optimistic people." Zig Ziglar
Some people are just toxic. That is
a cold, hard fact. You know who they are. Those people who start
sentences with phrases like, "No offense but..." or "Don't take
this the wrong way...". People who criticize while couching their
words in passive-aggression. Or who seem to always have a
problem. They aren't happy, someone was mean to them, or they get
angry/offended way too easily.
I fucking HATE people like that.
I'm a say-what-you-mean-mean-what-you-say kind of gal. That means I
often offend and rarely apologize if someone is way too sensitive. I've
cut off friends, family, and co-workers for being toxic. I've ended
relationships because of it.
Toxic behavior comes in many forms:
Aggression
Guilt
Jealousy
Intolerance
Superiority
Self-Pity
You have a right to feel good about
yourself and your life choices. At the end of your life - when you face
whatever you believe is going to happen to you - you will be standing there by
yourself. So will each and every one of those negative people you've
allowed to bring you down.
Life is too short. Demand happiness
- fight for it - and don't let people who crave misery drag you into their
shit.
